How to find and download Excel Templates
at the Microsoft Template Gallery The Microsoft Template Gallery (VERY slow to open; have patience) contains thousand of templates. It is very easy to not find a template that is useful to you. And then to not understand how to download and us the one you found because of how Microsoft has set up the site. We recommend you do the following when you go to the gallery link above:
Many of the templates are only for Excel 2007. How ever there is no way to tell via a search. If the version says only for Excel 2007 and you do not have, there is no way to download. However, if you have a friend who has 2007, they can download and then you can use the resulting template in Excel 2003 or earlier. When you click on the download button there is no option to save the template. It opens up automatically in a new Excel session. If you are using Excel 2007-2010, the template is automatically saved to your default Excel template folder. If you are using Excel 97-2003 you need to save it by: File, Save As and change the the file type to Excel Template. Change the name to remove any number put at the end and save the file.
